Elia Petridis' The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente Fernandez stars film and television ledgend Ernest Borgnine. I was the orchestrator of the film score for composer Ruy Folguera. The film will be released in late 2012.	Alfonso Arau's "Imbroglio nel Lenzuolo" is an Italian language comedy starring Maria Grazia Cucinotta. I orchestrated for composer Ruy Folguera on this film. The film was released in Italy and the surrounding countries.
Rodrigo Grande's Cuestion de Principios is a Spanish language comedy from Argentina. I was once again the orchestrator for composer Ruy Folguera. The film was released in Argentina in September '09.	It isn't film composer work, but it was fun! I recently completed a 2 1/2 year tenure with the band Christafari as a keyboard player. The 10 piece reggae band tours all over the world, but my composing and orchestrating is the priority and I had to bow out. Thanks guys for the good ride!
Scott Derrickson's sci-fi The Day The Earth Stood Still stars Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly. I was part of the orchestration and score prep team for composer Tyler Bates, orchestrating somewhere around half of the score.	Ridley Scott's drama American Gangster starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe was nominated for two Oscars. I was music coordinator for composer Mark Streitenfeld and assisted on the scoring stage.
Rebecca Lorenne's feature documentary Take a Bow was made by Breaking Glass Films. The film was shown at the Naperville Independent Film Festival where it was nominated for best documentary. It chronicles a special needs school in Chicago, many of the children in the school, and a musical that they make every year. Acoustic pop film music.	Gwen O'Donnell's 35mm feature The Funk Parlor features some additional music by me. It was screened at the Breckenridge Festival of Film. The Funk family owns one of two funeral parlors in a small town, the law is suspicious of their activities, and the other parlor wants them out of business. Orchestral additional music.
Jake Kennedy's horror Penance is a gritty film in which a girl in search of fast cash is captured by a predator and tortured. Too graphic for a theatrical release or broadcast, it went straight to DVD. Additional music was a classical period piece.	Robert Iscove's feature Love N' Dancing had (unusually) two film composers. One was David Iscove, for whom I orchestrated. In the film a deaf swing dancer and his partner try for the World Swing Dancing Championships. Pop orchestral film score.
Ridley Scott's drama Body Of Lies stars Leonardo DiCaprio & Russell Crowe. This was my second film as music coordinator for Mark Streitenfeld.	Alan Menken first previewed the music from Enchanted in a live concert at the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam. Ruy Folguera & I orchestrated a medley for that concert of his past hits and the main themes from Enchanted.
During the 2006-7 season I worked as assistant music editor to Josh Winget on the television shows "C.S.I. New York" and "Everybody Hates Chris".	Rush Hour III is Brett Ratner's action/comedy with Jackie Chan. My role in this film was small, but I made some synth mock-ups with Ruy Folguera for Lalo Schifrin.
The Blue Shield of California ad campaign titled "We Shield You" used my music from 2006-2011. There have been dozens of spots, and just a few of my favorites are sampled here: Backless Hospital Gown Circumcision Showing the Goods Helmet Tooth Fairy Martian T-Ball Hold Music

Short Films

Magic Hourglass marks my fifth time as film composer on a Robert Rollins film. Best described as a short epic, it has magic and fantasy and time travel and a huge horse and a seven person sword fight all in 20 minutes. The film score is an orchestral chamber ensemble mixed with percussion and a folk band.	My second collaboration wtih director Rebecca Doppelt, Bugbaby is a horror comedy that had screenings all over the country and won multiple awards. The music is a quirky, lighthearted, fantastical score along the lines of a Tim Burton film. Genevieve McCarty's short "Every Other Week" had a very successful screening at the San Diego Children's Film Festival in August of 2010. In November 2009 it played at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Short Film, Best Production Design, and Best VFX. Film score is piano and string orchestrations.	My fourth collaboration with director Robert Rollins, "The Ringing" is about the common shared experience of having nightmares about your job. The film score is avant garde modern classical mixed with office lounge music.
Robert Rollins' featurette "Knightfall" won a Telly award. It's about a modern day knight who has been captured by the Vatican. A timely topic, we learn that these two opposing religious zealots will go to great lengths for "the greater good". Orchestral & electronic film music. Watch the trailer.	This was my third time composing for Robert Rollins. His film "Long After Midnight" is completely narrated, and explores the wild imagination of a child when sleeping alone in a tent in the back yard. The film score is traditional orchestral.
Ryosuke Kawanaka's film "The Razor" was part of the 2008 Wisconsin Film Festival and the 2007 Los Angeles International Short Film Festival along with "Pumpkin Hollow". The story is about Craig, an old-time barber. He is slowly coming to grips with his failing health and diminishing dexterity with a straight razor, and an accident with the razor may change his future permanently... Old time jazz film score.	Robert Rollins' "Pumpkin Hollow" was shown at the 2007 Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, where "The Razor" also participated. It is a Halloween suspense film in which the owner of a pumpkin lot is terrorized by a haunted scarecrow. A film composer's playground! Orchestral film score.
Iris Ichishita's "Homeless Karaoke" is a short documentary about a positive side of homelessnes on skid row. It has been acquired by PBS and won Juror's Choice in their Independent Lens Shorts Festival. It received the Paul Robeson Fund for the Arts grant and was also one of 12 finalists in the International Documentary Challenge where I was the film composer. Iris Ichishita's "Al Jazeera English" is a short documentary about the Washington branch of the Arabic news station and its efforts to provide global news in the US despite the biases that have developed towards it since 9/11. Originally a web video for GOOD Magazine. Electronic film music.
Maytal Gilboa's "Tommy and Lucy" is a modern-day Hansel and Gretel story. In it two children separated by an evil mother attempt to reunite in the dark of night, despite the frightening things they encounter. Orchestral film score.	For Adam Biggs' "Two People" I was the dubbing engineer and also played the piano (not film composer). This film tells the story of a couple's breakup through the dialogue of an intimate morning earlier in their relationship.
Kamir Ainouz's "Roses, Coffee" tells the same story twice, once from a male perspective and once from a female perspective, a fun challenge for a film composer. Jazz & pop film music.	Christopher Sepulveda's "Anyone Anywhere" was distributed through the Film Festival Channel. Inspired by the passing comments of his co-worker and boss, Steven challenges the everyday trust we put in people. Acoustic pop & orchestral film score.
Jeremy Milford's "Randolf the Hungry Wizard" is totally ridiculous and completely hilarious! An unsuspecting Randolf is cursed with unceasing hunger, and a myriad of escapades ensue! Orchestral film score.	Mr. Resistor was a thesis project from my time at the Berklee College of Music. Although a student project it remains one of my favorite works as a film compsoer. The big band film score coupled with the stop motion animation makes for great slapstick cartoon comedy. The original film was directed by Mark Gustafson, and I have replaced Jamie Haggerly's original music.
Alan Shore's "Jump For Joy" appeared in two Australian film festivals: The Canberra Film Festival and the Australian National Contemporary Arts Festival. This was a very successful debut for me as a film composer. Four people and three very different problems all meet in the same hot air balloon. Acoustic pop film score.
