Director Robert Rollins and I completed the final dub of his film "Long After Midnight" today. The film score was recorded here in Los Angeles, mixed at Igloo Music, and I did the surround dub of the film. Nov 9, 2008 - Recording in Prague For the last week I have been the orchestrator and music copyist for Ruy Folguera. We are orchestrating an album by Argentinean artist Manu Pereyra and using an orchestra in Prague on the 11th. Oct 5 - Nov 4, 2008 - Brazil tour I spent all of October touring through Brazil again with the band. We had shows almost every day, but there were a few days off and my Portuguese is getting a lot better!
Oct 5, 2008 - Penance music finished I completed and delivered additional music for Jake Kennedy's film Penance today, just in time to leave for tour! Sept 27, 2008 - Orchestrating for Keanu Yesterday I completed orchestrations for Tyler Bates on The Day The Earth Stood Still. I was the orchestrator for around 1/3 to 1/2 of the score along with Tim Williams and Ruy Folguera. Aug 20, 2008 - Orchestrating for Diego Schoening I spent the last couple of days working as an orchestrator and doing music copyist work for Ruy Folguera and Argentinean artist Diego Schoening. The album will be released on Fonarte Latino early in 2009. June 20 - August 11, 2008 - Europe tour We had an epic tour through Europe with Christafari for the last 8 weeks. We covered 18 countries and saw everything from Iceland to Spain, from England to Latvia, from good to bad. We're tired but what a great way to see the world! June 19, 2008 - Musical theatre score Steve Altman is a composer and performer here in Los Angeles. He wrote a musical called The Time Machine, and today I completed the transcriptions and music copyist work for it. We're hoping for a Broadway run with it.

Knightfall wins a Telly awardI was the film composer for Robert Rollins' new film "Knightfall", and today it won a Telly Award in the non-broadcast category. We are honored to be among the winners. June 14, 2008 - Choral arrangement performance I completed an arrangement today for the El Camino women's choir that will be sung in their Christmas performance Dec 7. June 5, 2008 - New band photos We got new Christafari band photos for the 2008-9 world tour. May 12 - 27, 2008 - US tour I just finished a mini tour with the band, playing in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California. Apr 10 - May 4, 2008 - Another Ridley Scott film For the last couple of weeks I have been working on the Ridley Scott film Body of Lies with film composer Marc Streitenfeld. I was his studio tech and did some music preparation for the movie also. We'll record at Warner Brothers here in LA and it will be in theatres soon.

Mar 15, 2008 - Knightfall screening We had a private screening of Robert Rollins' new film "Knightfall" today, and it was a big success. It's the only chance for much of the crew to meet the film composer, so it's always good fun. Mar 10, 2008 - Orchestral manuscripts to be recorded soon Max Schubel is a concert composer and recording artist from Maine who has a label called Opus One. I was his music copyist for a work called "Chimera" which will be recorded soon by the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Feb 23, 2008 - Love N' Dancing soundtrack complete Today I spent the day in the studio listening to the mixdown of my orchestrations of composer David Iscove's score for Love N' Dancing. The film is going to sound great. Feb 2, 2008 - Shortest, hugest tour ever. Christafari is in Brasilia, Brazil, for a single show! It's carnival season and there was a crowd 80,000 strong at an event sponsored by the government. Insane. Jan 5, 2008 - Knightfall film score finished My score for Robert Rollins' film "Knightfall" wrapped today. This film score was a tough one to get my head around at first, but the final product is great. Jan 3, 2008 - Opera manuscript finished After a great deal of work my final music engraving for composer Vivian Fine's chamber opera "Women In The Garden" is finished. Mrs. Fine was a very influential concert composer and this is her flagship work. It will be used to raise grant money to preserve her legacy, and hopefully the piece will be performed again in northern California. |
